Which is the best mid cap index fund?
Answer refreshed with data updated · research, not investment advice
Mid cap index funds mostly track one of two indices — the broad Nifty Midcap 150 or the narrower Midcap 50 — so 'best' comes down to three things: which index you want, the expense ratio, and how faithfully the fund tracks it (tracking error).
Prefer the Midcap 150 for broader, less concentrated exposure; it is the standard mid-cap benchmark. Between funds on the same index, the cheaper and better-tracking fund wins — there is no manager skill to pay for in a tracker.
