Can you give me the top 3 mutual funds to invest in?
Answer refreshed with data updated · research, not investment advice
There is no universal top 3 — and anyone who gives you one without asking questions first is selling something. The right funds depend entirely on your time horizon and risk appetite: a fantastic small cap fund is a terrible answer for money you need in three years.
The two questions that actually determine your list: (1) When will you need this money? Under 5 years points to large cap or a broad index fund; 5–7 years to flexi/multi cap; 7+ years opens up mid and small caps. (2) How much of a temporary 30% drop can you sit through without selling? Be honest — the answer decides how aggressive your mix can be.
Once you've picked 2–3 categories from those answers, choosing WITHIN each category is where FundLens shines: every fund is scored 0–100 against its true peers on returns, risk-adjusted quality and cost. Start with your horizon's category page, or ask our assistant with your specifics — it will ask the right follow-ups.
