Which flexi cap fund is best right now?
Answer refreshed with data updated · research, not investment advice
There is no permanent answer, but there is a current one, and the live leaderboard below is it: every flexi cap fund ranked by the FundLens Smart Score — returns, risk-adjusted quality (Sharpe, Sortino, alpha, volatility) and cost, each scored as a percentile against flexi cap peers only and recomputed every time our AMFI data refreshes. Nothing on this page is hand-picked.
Flexi cap is the go-anywhere category: the manager can move freely across large, mid and small caps as valuations change, instead of being boxed into one segment. That flexibility, plus built-in diversification across the whole market, is why a flexi cap fund is one of the most common single-fund cores of an Indian equity portfolio — and why three to five years is the least you should give it.
One caveat is specific to this category: “flexi cap” is not a single risk level. Two funds with the same label can hold very different amounts of mid and small cap, so one may swing far harder than another — check each fund's actual cap mix and volatility (standard deviation, beta) before assuming they are interchangeable. And if you already own separate large-, mid- or small-cap funds, a flexi cap can quietly overlap with them; it is worth checking how much of the same stocks you would end up holding. This is research, not investment advice.
